Elizabeth Egan Gillies was born on 26 July 1993, in Haworth, New Jersey, United States. Her father’s name is Dave Gillies and her mother’s name is Lorrie Gillies.

She spent her childhood in the city of Haworth, New Jersey with her younger brother. At a very young age, she became interested in acting and started appearing in the commercial ads.

Gillies attended local public school for her primary education and later joined the online high school program to give proper time to her acting career

In 2007, Gillies first appeared in the television show The Black Donnellys. But due to some reasons, she did only three episodes and left the show. The next year she played several minor roles in tv shows such as The Clique, Locker 514, and Harold.

In 2010, Gillies starred as Jade West in Nickelodeon television show Victorious alongside Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice, Daniela Monte, Avan Jogia, and others. The show became a huge success and received many positive reviews worldwide.
