Sundar Pichai was born in July 1972 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India in a Tamil family. His father Regunatha Pichai was an electrical engineer at GEC. His father also had a manufacturing plant that manufactures electrical components and his mother Lakshmi Pichai was a stenographer.

Sundar completed his primary education in Jawahar Vidyalaya in Ashok Nagar, Chennai and for class XII he took admission to Vana Vani school and later joined the Indian Institute Of Technology Madras for his engineering studies.

Sundar was so talented and smart from his childhood he always holds a good rank in his class and his teachers are so close to him because of his decent behaviour. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur.

Thereafter he completed his M.S. in material science and engineering from Stanford University. He is also an MBA from the Wharton School Of the University of Pennsylvania and received many scholars.

Career

After completing an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania he worked in product management and engineering at applied materials as well as in management consulting at McKinsey & Company. He joined Google in 2004 and started working on projects including Google chrome, Google Drive, Gmail and Google maps.
