Kane Allen Brown was born on 21 October 1993, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. He was raised in Red Bank, Tennesse by his single mother, Tabatha Brown.

Brown attended Oglethorpe High School in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia before joining Saddy Daisy High Schools. During his high school years, he became interested in music and performed in school talent shows.

He also auditioned in many popular talent shows including American Idol and The X Factor. Then, he started posting his covers of popular songs in online platforms.

In 2015, Brown got worldwide attention when his covers “I Don’t Dance” and “Check Yes or No” went viral on Facebook. Both of the songs received more than 5M views and his number of followers increased rapidly.
